John the Baptist confirms that he was the one sent by God as foretold by the prophet Isaiah as it is written in Matthew 3:3, "For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, 'The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'"
John the Baptist is the Lord's "advance party" or "forerunner" so to speak. He was the one tasked by the Lord to set the stage for the greatest show on earth. A show that would forever change the lives of God's people...
